Erica: Okay, so this quickie, bear with us, because we putting this motherfucking plane together as we fly it. Kenrya: As we fly it. Erica: So what we're going to do is, we are going to give the other person a random line, out of context, from one of the stories that we've read this season, and the other person has to guess where it's from. Kenrya: I feel like we're going to fail horribly at this game. Erica: You know? Look, okay. Kenrya: I know I am. Erica: Okay. So you want to start us off, Killa? Kenrya: Sure. Erica: Woo. Woo. Kenrya: All right. Okay- Erica: You was about to say, "This is from." Kenrya: This is definitely written here in my notes. "When I consider all the places my hands have been on her, it seems strange that I can't touch her again. The intensity in her eyes shames me. I'm flooded with regret and ashamed of pushing her out of my house. I retaliated violently. I hate that she could even believe that I'm capable of doing that again." Look at your face. Erica: Only reason I'm going to say this is from the Dawn of Nia. Kenrya: Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding! We need sound effects. No, that's not like what you think does sound like. Erica: In my mind I am a human beatbox, but I guess not. Was that from a clip that like from what we read? Kenrya: No. Erica: Oh see- Kenrya: Oh, you did something from the reading? Erica: Yes. Now see this is how we all fucked up because I read there from the reading, but okay. Dawn of Nia, because it seemed like something like ... It seems like it was too articulate for a man to say. Kenrya: Yes. Erica: And that was our only, you know, same sex love stories. Kenrya: Yeah- Erica: Well, same sex sex story. But yeah. Okay. Yay. Kenrya: Well done. Erica: Okay, so this is for you Killa. Kenrya: Oh boy. Erica: I wonder why as I gather him into me. I wonder why because this is a symphony of ... See, bitch this is why Kenrya does the reading, because I got a thick tongue. Okay- Kenrya: We all got our special sets of skills. Erica: Okay. I wonder why as I gathered him into me. I wonder why. Because this is a symphony of scent and breath, high notes of lemon and the pure sob of cinnamon and the darkness of cloves. I wonder why, as I say his name over and over, like I'm hushing a baby. It is almost too good. Kenrya: That is so nice. Erica: It is. Isn't it beautiful? Kenrya: Oh fuck. I remember it, but I don't remember ... Okay, let me, let me think through this a little bit. Lemon and cinnamon ... Who wrote that? Oh man, I don't know. Erica: It's from Leone Ross! Kenrya: Of course it is, that's why it's so beautiful. Erica: She's such a good writer. Oh, it's not ... Well the author is Leone Ross and the story is not ... Oh gosh. Hold on. I'm going to tell you- Kenrya: Trifling! Erica: Trifling! Kenrya: Poor us, that's fine. Kenrya: Yeah, nonetheless, it is Leone Ross and it is from her book “Come Let Us Sing” Anyway, and it is from the short story “Drag.” Kayla: Oh yes. That's beautiful Erica: She's just a beautiful writer. She's done a few other stories, not all are erotic, but they're all really- Kenrya: Most are not, but they're just all really sensual. Erica: Yeah. Cause she had The Woman in the Restaurant that you really like. Kenrya: Yes. Oh, it is so beautiful and sad. Erica: So yeah, she's just a great writer. We know this. Kenrya: That's dope. Kenrya: So yeah. Erica: Okay, cool. Kenrya: Okay. He took my hand and placed the kiss in its palm, then tucked my dress out from under him so that the him bunched around my waist as he returned to my mouth and stroked my hip. I marveled at his ability to light my body on fire with just the slightest caress in the brush of his lips. There's no clues there. Erica: None whatsoever but God dammit let him brush me and my lips. I have no fucking clue. Kenrya: Okay, I'll give you a clue. It is a bit of sci-fi. Erica: Oh, feel me. I want to feel the fire. Kenrya: No ma'am. Erica: It's not from fire ... Fire desire, what's the name of that story? Kenrya: Don't ask me questions. Erica: Oh my gosh. We love all our books. We love the story. Just the titles fuck us up. Kenrya: And we also read so many in preparation for the show and we're preparing season two. So we're like deep in it right now. Erica: Okay. So it's not from the wolf pack series. It is from- Kenrya: Did she say wolf pack, bitch. Erica: It was, it had...It had a werecat in it. Kenrya: Santoria. It does have a werecat in it. Erica: Okay, I'm lost, what was that from? Kenrya: It's from “Awakening.” Erica: Oh yeah! Okay. That was a good one too. Kenrya: It was a great one. Erica: Shout out to Rebel Miller who has a whole series and yeah, dot dot dot, get into it y'all. Cause shit gets spicy. Kenrya: It really does. Like that book just sets up the ...See I'm trying not to spoil it because I really want people to read it. Like that book just sets up the way her relationship goes. Erica: We'll make sure we put the link to the rest of the series in this episode's- Kenrya: Oh yeah, okay. Erica: Show notes. Kenrya: Let's do that. Erica: Okay for me. Para mi. Esta bien, et tu no bueno. Okay. Shaking her head, again this is why Kenrya reads. Shaking her head she opened the door trying not to look back at the little table of desserts. She hadn't even tried an eclair- Kenrya: Oh Bad for the Boss sorry. Cause that's a good scene. Erica: It wasn't great? Kenrya: It also it made me hungry. Erica: Oh yeah. So it wasn't from our reading, but it was from the book. Yeah. So one of the, one of the situations in the book is that Jenny's boyfriend, I forget his name, but I want to keep calling him Daniel Dae Kim because we have cast in the movie about this book. But anyway, his sister, Daniel Dae Kim's sister is in school and she relieves tension by baking. So he not only fucks her but feeds her- Kenrya: Fucks her well and feeds her well. Erica: Sweets. And y'all know me if you're trying to get on my good side, fuck me and feed me. Kenrya: Yeah. Yeah. And that's a shout out to Talia Hibbert. Erica: Yes. And she just writes again, we had some good authors this season. Kenrya: We really did. Erica: Talia writes just really great sensual books. Kenrya: But also they're like super relatable and funny and yeah, she has a new one out called right now called Take A Stand. Erica: Oh, I thought it was Chloe Brown or ... It's something Chloe Brown? It is not Fuck Me Chloe Brown. Kenrya: It is definitely not, Fuck me. Erica: Nonetheless. Shout out to Talia and her great, relatable, fun, but also really sexy stories. Okay, that wraps up this quickie. Erica: Thank you for joining us your hosts, Erica and Kenrya two hoes making it clap. Kenrya: We hope you enjoy this week's quickie.
